A man has been stabbed and another injured following a fight at a residential property near a prison. Metropolitan Police officers were dispatched to the scene on Du Cane Road, Hammersmith, today (April 13) after receiving reports of a person barricaded in a home. At the scene, officers established that a 37-year-old man had barricaded himself inside the address.

A man in his 50s suffered a stab wound following reports of an earlier fight inside the property and was taken to hospital. It is believed that both men are known to each other. Another man, also in his 50s, was treated at the scene for a minor wound to his shoulder.

It is understood that his injury was consistent with a slash wound. Du Cane Road is currently closed at the time of reporting following the incident. A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said: “Police responded to an incident in Du Cane Road, Hammersmith after a 37-year-old man barricaded himself inside a residential address.

“A man in his 50s, thought to be known to the 37-year-old man, was taken to hospital with a stab wound following an earlier altercation inside the property. His condition was later confirmed to be non-life-changing. “Another man, also in his 50s, was treated at the scene for a wound to the shoulder.

His injuries were confirmed as minor. “This is believed to be an isolated incident with no wider risk to the public.
